Artist's Description

A Chromodoris kuniei Nudibranch. Nudibranchs have gill-like appendages on their backs. The pair on the head, called rhinophores, sense odors and help them find food. The plume of gills at the back is for respiration. This beautiful sea slug was photographed in the Solomon Islands.
