This is a gorgeous photo and the colors are fantastic. I have never seen this type of shot before and it is great. Nice work!

Paula De Baleau replied:

Thank you Janette!

Artist's Description

The Christmas tree worm's tubular body is burrowed into Porites coral (a type of hard coral), hidden from view. The two spirals we see are its feeding and respiratory structure. Sensitive to light and motion, they instantly retract into the worm's body when the camera's strobes flash! The photo was taken in Papua New Guinea. 1" wide.

About Paula De Baleau

Paula De Baleau

My passion is scuba diving and visually documenting the beauty of our underwater world. The currents can rip, and many subjects are constantly moving, making underwater photography quite challenging at times. With patience and a lot of luck my husband and I have been rewarded with some spectacular shots. I hope you enjoy the images as much as we do! They make thoughtful, unusual, one of a kind gifts. If you don't see the image size you want, or have a special request, please contact me. Chances are I can make it happen! A special thanks to everyone who visits. You really make my day! See you at the bottom! Paula To purchase handmade, matted, metallic photo greeting cards please visit my...
