Spondylus varius, sometimes called the Orange Mouth Thorny Oyster, is typically found attached to a rocky coral wall where it feeds on plankton. They can vary in color and patterning, and this one resembles a grinning Jack O�Lantern on Halloween night. Photographed in Papua New Guinea, it was about 2" wide.
